No Compromises

One of the characteristics of our times is to speak in exaggerated terms. The man of this century has very little time to know the many wonders that modernity offers. Among them, we must take into account the instruments available today to make explorations of all kinds.

These instruments, despite having been created by the human mind, have been implanted in the daily life of man to turn him into a dependent and cornered being, bored and disoriented. I wonder what one will do when household chores are carried out entirely by electronic devices, when mental exercise is the exclusive responsibility of computers, and labor is totally automated.

We are the creators of these monsters and also their victims. I am amazed when I see these American films that show the number of sophisticated sexual vibrators and mechanical penises that have been created for dissatisfied women, or those who are simply curious, and how pornography is a form of mechanization of the carnal act.

But this era is not more permissive than others, it is only a verbal liberation. Before, there was exactly the same sexual freedom that we have and live now, the only difference is that before, things were more discreet and interesting.

Before, there were few people who told their sexual intimacies in great detail, unlike now, where mostly young people believe they are committing a feat by making their comments on this subject. The forbidden has a great charm.

Precisely, the era does not prohibit, and for this reason we are less interested in sex. We see the high percentage of impotent and frigid women that exist. They think that love is something genital. They do not fall in love, they do not go deeper, and contradictorily, they are more inhibited. Some people solve this by perverting young people, because there they do find pleasure, because it is something forbidden.

One of the advantages of pornography is that it has achieved the abolition of a taboo. Sexual relations had never been filmed, and by doing so, it managed to add an incentive, an adjuvant to physical relations for some unmotivated couples. Pornography defines the current state of feelings in the century.

Man wants to abolish those foolish, naive and even false preambles that were manifested in previous times. Physical attraction has existed since time immemorial, however, the ways of manifesting it have changed progressively. Some argue that all these preambles are ridiculous, they consider it a deception: because the only thing they know is that attraction exists, and they want to share a moment without the need for lies or commitments.

The young man of today does not want to commit. He has suffered several enslaving relationships and wants to share and even love. The important thing about this type of relationship is that sometimes they are more lasting and interesting, because you are not tied down.

But the counterpart of the above is extremism, modern man is unstable, not very harmonious. I do not believe it is healthy to be chained without love, nor do I consider that the best thing is to have an ambiguous relationship, because this leads to superficiality and repression.

It is better to establish a relationship with a single individual trying to get to know each other as well as possible. People who do not commit themselves generally do so out of fear; they feel insecure and defenseless in a relationship that requires depth. They do not commit themselves, but they fear being abandoned.

Those who do not take risks neither win nor lose. By taking the risk of a commitment, precious moments are gained, they are shared, and then if one day it ends, there is the knowledge that it was an experience enjoyed to the fullest.

In this regard, a wise Chinese man told me: “If a man wants to become superior, he cannot develop himself if part of his sentimental life consists of causing harm to others.”
